Just download this and either make it full screen on your large monitor or print it as an A3 color image.

Simulated Distances

  • A3 Printout: With your eyes 1m (40") away from an A3 printout, the 3 El Presidente targets will appear as if you were 10m (11 yards) away from full size IPSC targets on a live range.
  • 27" monitor: At 1m from your eyes, the targets will be the same size as if they were 8m away. At 2m, they will be the equivalent of 16m away.
  • 65" TV Screen: If you view them on a 65" TV, 2.4m away will be equivalent to 8m on a live range.

If you can't access a color printer, you can order a printed version delivered to your door.

Possible Drills:

  • Bill Drill: It doesn’t get much simpler than the Bill Drill, named after Bill Wilson of Wilson Combat. All you’ll need is any of the larger ISPC targets. At the “beep,” draw your pistol and fire six shots into the center zone of the target as quickly as you can. That's it. To run a clean drill, all shots must be in the center zone of the target. When starting, aim for under five seconds. The fast shooters will do it at 7m in under 1.7 seconds.

  • El Presidente: This classic drill requires three IPSC targets 10m away, about 1m apart each. Using the three equally sized IPSC targets at about arm's length will simulate three full-size IPSC targets at 10m. To run El Presidente, start with your back turned. On the signal, turn, draw, and fire two shots at each target, perform a reload, then fire two more shots at each target. Par time is 10 seconds.

  • Transition Drills: Start on one target, and on the beep, transition to another target. This can be done using the four octagonal targets and two no-shoots in the top right corner to work on precision and speed.

  • Criss-Cross Training: With the four octagonal targets and two no-shoots in the top right corner, you can practice transitioning diagonally, for example, starting top left, moving to bottom right, then top right to bottom left, ensuring not to hit the no-shoot targets. This drill helps improve your ability to transition between targets at different angles and distances.

Benefits:

  • Transition Drills: Improve target acquisition speed, muscle memory, and sight alignment. Transitioning between targets quickly and accurately is crucial in IPSC-style shooting.

  • Criss-Cross Training: This trains the shooter to move the gun in non-linear patterns, breaking the habit of constantly transitioning left to right or top to bottom. It forces the shooter to be more conscious of muzzle direction and builds flexibility in target engagement patterns.
